La calidez humana que se vive aquí es algo realmente especial. The lessons are in small groups, so you become very close with the group and learn a lot! The school organized evening activities, so it was easy to meet people and practice Spanish outside the classroom (I loved the salsa dance classes!). The lessons are effective, the teachers are engaging, and the workbooks they provide are great resources. Every day there are fun activities you can participate in to learn more about Peruvian culture, get to know locals, improve your Spanish, or all three. I chose the homestay option and that was the best choice. I spent Christmas with them and they included me in the celebrations. They were very welcoming and helpful if I needed anything. Both the school and family were there for me when I got altitude sickness my first few days. Cusco is a wonderful place to be especially if you love history. We did a two-week Spanish course with Mundo Antiguo and had a blast. Classes are small (1-4 students), last for 3-4 hours every morning or afternoon, depending on your level. Not only do they have skilled and helpful teachers, they also have optional social activities that are a lot of fun, like a dinner with new students, salsa lessons, sports activities and a meet the locals where you switch between Spanish and English every 10mins. Wat een fijne plek om Spaans te leren. Je voelt je meteen thuis. Goede docenten leren je heel snel stappen te maken in t Spaans. In kleine groepjes met afwisselende werkvormen. Super leuk dat er ook sociale activiteiten zijn die zij gratis organiseren. Zo ontmoet je andere studenten. Echt een aanrader! The communication and logistics were terrific thanks to Meli and Jose. I made terrific progress with my Spanish thanks to the amazing teachers Jimmy, Silvana and Heidy. I had a fantastic homestay experience with Marina and her family. And lastly, my favorite part, I had a wonderful time attending all the different after school activities that Mar would organize. I can, without hesitation, recommend Mundo Antiguo to anyone wanting to not only improve their Spanish but have a great time doing it! They were able to accommodate me as a beginner with only a month of experience. Free coffee and tea during class kept me going. Very welcoming community. Special shoutout to Mar! She runs the after class activities and she made our experience in Cusco very special.
