I spent a month at Mundo Antiguo, and my experience was absolutely incredible! Everyone at the school was so kind and welcoming, and I loved how organized and flexible the program was. It was clear that their priority was helping each student learn in the way that worked best for them. My Spanish improved so much during my time there, and it was genuinely the most effective Spanish learning experience I’ve had! I also learned so much about the local culture, and Ninoska does an incredible job helping students connect with each other and with locals! I also stayed with a host family and absolutely loved it! I stayed with Magali, who was so kind and accommodating, especially with my food sensitivities. One of my favorite parts of the entire experience was simply sitting with her after lunch or dinner each day and talking. She truly made me feel so welcomed and at home! I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this program, the people I met, and Cusco itself! I would recommend Mundo Antiguo to anyone who is interested!

I cannot recommend this school enough. I did a month of spanish school with a homestay and it was truly the best experience. Typical day involved four hours of lessons with two different teachers either in the morning or afternoon with a max of four other students. The lesson pacing was great and from having no spanish when I started to now feeling a lot more confident to just try speaking has really really helped. My homestay was only 15 min walk to school, close to all the main attractions in the city and had every meal provided. I’d really recommend doing a homestay as well as you got to practice your spanish outside of classes, had other students to socialise with and it was really a fun and immersive experience. My homestay host was like a second mum and took really good care of us. Another great part of the school was all the daily activities organised by Ninoska that varied most weeks and were very very fun. Particular highlights include the language exchange where you got to talk with locals and they got to practice their english, the fruit and potato tasting and one week we even got to watch a football game at the cusco stadium. Everyone is so lovely at the school and they’ve created a beautiful inclusive community there.

I spent 4 weeks at Mundo Antiguo and it was everything I was looking for. I did the package that included 4 weeks at the school, with the rainbow mountain, sacred valley, 7 lagoons, and then the 5 day Salkantay trek at the end. The lessons were fantastic - the group classes were small enough so that it still felt very personalised and the teachers made sure that the work we did suited our ability. If there wasn't anyone else at my level, they gave me 3 hours of private classes instead of 4 hours group. Outside of classes, there were so many opportunities to practise Spanish and learn about Peruvian culture. I also did volunteering in the mornings which the school organised. It felt so easy to have a routine and settle in Cusco, but I also had plenty of free time to relax and explore the city. Staying with a host family (Sheyla) felt like a real privilege, she was incredibly welcoming and I felt as if nothing was too much for her! The Salkantay trek was one of the best weeks of my life, and I'm incredibly grateful to the Mundo Antiguo team for helping me make the most of my time in Peru.

Tack tack🫶

Spent a week at the school. Booked last minute but was welcomed into the school very warmly. Administrative side was well-organised and a homestay was efficiently put together for me. The teachers are extremely friendly and adept at pacing the lessons to suit the ability of the class. Social activities were superb and enabled me to practise Spanish in different environments. If you want to learn/improve your Spanish, look no further than Mundo Antiguo! Great fun with good people that genuinely have your best interests at heart.

Such a great school and really good value for money. Staff are lovely and very knowledgable. I was a complete beginner and after a week here I was able to more successfully navigate my way around Peru. Our host Marina was absolutely lovely and her food was delicious!! We felt right at home. The social side of the school was great too, we got to experience some really good things and meet great people. Definitely recommend!

Amazing Spanish School The teachers are amazing! They clearly explain the grammar in multiple ways and are very patient with high expectations. The quality of instruction went beyond my expectations. They also accommodated when I wanted to switch levels.

Highly recommended !!! I can highly recommend this Spanish school to anyone looking to learn Spanish in a fun and supportive environment. The Spanish classes are very well structured, making it easy to improve your language skills step by step. The teachers are excellent—professional, patient, and always motivated to help their students succeed. What makes this school even more special is everything that happens outside the classroom. They organize fun activities every day, which are a great way to practice Spanish, explore the local culture, and meet people from all over the world. Overall, it has been an amazing experience, and I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Spanish while making unforgettable memories. Five stars!

Fantastic Spanish School in Cusco! I didn't know what to expect before arriving in Cusco to start my language immersion experience. My sole reason for coming to Peru was to learn Spanish. It started with an airport pickup that took me to my homestay. Mundo Antiguo gave me options with photos and descriptions of the families available, which made things way more comforting prior to arriving. The homestay experience was a fantastic time. I stayed with the family of Delia, and they helped me get comfortable right away. Throughout my time there, they offered to take me around town, try new foods, and talk with me to better understand where I come from. I truly enjoyed getting to know them and learning about their ways and how Peruvians operate. Talking with them was also a major help in learning about the history of Peru. One of the things I enjoyed most was their patience. Delia always took the time to help me understand what I was trying to say (my Spanish wasn't that great) and always offered input to help with my learning. Highly recommend trying the homestay experience, at least for a little while. I stayed with Delia for 6 weeks before heading to an Airbnb. I wouldn't have done it any other way. The school itself is laid out nicely, both in the structure of the classes and the professors they have on staff. I had 5 different professors during my time there. Each one offered a unique way to learn, and I enjoyed every single one of them. If you don't vibe with a professor's teaching style, you can freely make a change by talking with one of the administrators. This flexibility is one of the things I liked most about Mundo Antiguo. Whether it was a change in schedule or a conflict that came up, they always found a way to help me. I took 4 hours of group classes for 4 weeks, then tried private classes for 2 hours a day for the remaining 3 weeks. I found both approaches helpful and would honestly recommend trying both. The activities during the week is where I think Mundo Antiguo stands out from other Spanish schools. I don't have much personal experience with other schools in South America, but from what I heard from others while attending, other schools didn't have great organization or attendance for many of their activities. Every activity at Mundo Antiguo had a great turnout, and there was never a day they had to cancel due to low attendance in my 3 months in Cusco. A big part of this comes down to Ninoska, the activities coordinator. She does a tremendous job greeting people and getting to know them. Beyond that, she's an overall great person. I had a few issues during my time in Cusco, and she always offered help and showed a caring hand. This can be tough to find when you're in a foreign country for an extended amount of time, not knowing many people. Huge shoutout to her and everything she did for me and the school. Weekly activities include: dinners with classmates, salsa classes, language exchange, soccer or volleyball, hiking, and other cultural outings. All were lots of fun. Highly recommend spending at least a week, ideally more, at Mundo Antiguo Spanish school. I met so many great people I can now call friends, and improved my Spanish to the level I'd say I had set as my goal before coming to Peru. Great price + instruction, fantastic location, and even better people. Thank you, Mundo Antiguo!

My stay in Mundo Antiguo I spent 4 weeks in the Mundo Antiguo school and I had a wonderful time. The school has a great atmopshere and the team is making every effort to give the students a great stay. The teachers are really good and make the lessons a lot of fun with excercices and games. I had my lessons in a group of 2-3 people. When I came I knew little Spanish but after 4 weeks I have made good progress. In the evenings and weekends the school also organises additional activities that you can join of you like such as salsa lessons, joint diners, movie nights and language exchanges with people from Cusco. I also really enjoyed the home stay with the Delia family who took really good care of me and also allowed me to further practice my Spanish. Finally, the agency that organises the weekend trips is also great. I had to change some of my planned trips and there is every day a very kind lady in the school who was super flexible and helped me to rearrange. So Mundo Antiguo is highly recommended!
