Voordat ze Mundo Antiguo ging leiden, heeft Carina acht jaar ervaring opgedaan als Spaans lerares op verschillende Spaanse taalscholen in Peru. Carina behaalde haar Master in het onderwijs aan de Universiteit van Cusco. Ze is een echte onderwijsspecialiste! Dus uiteraard is zij verantwoordelijk voor de cursussen en de programma’s in onze Spaanse school, want wij willen je de beste kwaliteit cursussen geven die er maar zijn.

Koen is Nederlands, maar reeds vele jaren woonachtig in Cusco. Hij heeft veel ervaring in de toeristische sector in Cusco. Hij weet precies wat voor soort service en kwaliteit je hoopt je krijgen wanneer je in het buitenland bent!

Wij nodigen je van harte uit om naar Cusco, Peru te komen. We zijn er zeker van dat het een heel bijzondere ervaring voor je zal worden.

Belangrijke feiten

1. Al onze docenten beschikken over officiële ELE-certificaten, uitgegeven door ELE Internacional, een instelling die academisch wordt ondersteund door de Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes (Spanje).
2. Onze academisch directeur heeft een masterdiploma in tweetalig en intercultureel onderwijs en geavanceerde certificeringen in het lesgeven van Spaans als tweede taal (ELE).
3. Ons docententeam heeft minimaal 5 jaar ervaring, met een gemiddelde van 9 jaar ervaring in het lesgeven van Spaans als vreemde taal.
4. Wij zijn erkend door het ministerie van Onderwijs in Peru.
5. Wij zijn officieel erkend door de Municipalidad Provincial del Cusco als centrum voor taal- en cultuuronderwijs.
6. Om de veiligheid van onze medewerkers en studenten te waarborgen, beschikken wij over alle benodigde bouwvoorschriften en gemeentelijke certificeringen.

Onze middelen

• Carina en Koen: betrokken professionals die na jarenlange praktijkervaring zijn begonnen aan het grootste project van hun leven. Zij willen service en klant gericht denken in Cusco naar een ander niveau tillen.
• Wij beschikken over een zeer ervaren groep docenten. We bieden ze regelmatig training en scholing om ervoor te zorgen dat de lesmethoden van het hoogste niveau zijn.
• We zijn gevestigd in een koloniaal gebouw in het hart van het stadscentrum van Cusco, tussen het centrale plein en het San Blas-plein. Het gebouw zelf is meer dan 300 jaar oud en is onlangs gerenoveerd.

¡He pasado 4 semanas con Mundo Antiguo y no es mentira que esas semanas quedaran en mi memoria para siempre! Las clases son excelentes y además hay muchas oportunidades para practicar y hablar en español. Spent 4 weeks at the school in Cusco and absolutely loved it! Would 100% recommend to take their language classes. I did some Spanish for some time before and started with intermediate. The school is super well organised, they have their own course material and the teachers were amazing. I was with Miguel, Yaki and Surabhi, all were fantastic! I stayed in the accommodation of the school which was a 20 min walk and nicely located. It had everything I needed with kitchen and private room, and was great value. There is 4 rooms and it felt like a nice flat share. Anyone looking to learn some Spanish or improve, this is the place to go for. Ich hatte eine unglaublich gute Zeit hier in der Spanischschule. Die Spanischstunden waren abwechslungsreich gestaltet und förderten meinen Lernprozess. Auch nach dem Unterricht gab es viele verschiedene Aktivitäten (z.B. Salsa Kurs, Fußball, Dinner, Kreative Aktivitäten…), an die man teilnehmen hatte können. Ich hatte eine super Zeit bei Mundo Antiguo! Der Unterricht war sehr abwechslungsreich und gut strukturiert, mit kurzen pausen nach jeder Lektion und Lehrer wechsel nach zwei Stunden. Ich habe mich vom ersten Tag an wohl gefühlt, sowohl in der Schule als auch bei der Gastfamilie! Auch die Aktivitäten am Abend haben immer richtig Spass gemacht! Highly recommended !!! I can highly recommend this Spanish school to anyone looking to learn Spanish in a fun and supportive environment. The Spanish classes are very well structured, making it easy to improve your language skills step by step. The teachers are excellent—professional, patient, and always motivated to help their students succeed. What makes this school even more special is everything that happens outside the classroom. They organize fun activities every day, which are a great way to practice Spanish, explore the local culture, and meet people from all over the world. Great experience I spent a week at the school and it was a wonderful experience. The teachers were dynamic, patient and helpful and the activities organized every evening made it very easy to socialize and make friends. Fantastic Spanish School in Cusco! I didn't know what to expect before arriving in Cusco to start my language immersion experience. My sole reason for coming to Peru was to learn Spanish. It started with an airport pickup that took me to my homestay. Mundo Antiguo gave me options with photos and descriptions of the families available, which made things way more comforting prior to arriving. The homestay experience was a fantastic time. I stayed with the family of Delia, and they helped me get comfortable right away. Throughout my time there, they offered to take me around town, try new foods, and talk with me to better understand where I come from. I truly enjoyed getting to know them and learning about their ways and how Peruvians operate. Talking with them was also a major help in learning about the history of Peru. One of the things I enjoyed most was their patience. Delia always took the time to help me understand what I was trying to say (my Spanish wasn't that great) and always offered input to help with my learning. Highly recommend trying the homestay experience, at least for a little while. I stayed with Delia for 6 weeks before heading to an Airbnb. I wouldn't have done it any other way. The school itself is laid out nicely, both in the structure of the classes and the professors they have on staff. I had 5 different professors during my time there. Each one offered a unique way to learn, and I enjoyed every single one of them. If you don't vibe with a professor's teaching style, you can freely make a change by talking with one of the administrators. This flexibility is one of the things I liked most about Mundo Antiguo. Whether it was a change in schedule or a conflict that came up, they always found a way to help me. I took 4 hours of group classes for 4 weeks, then tried private classes for 2 hours a day for the remaining 3 weeks. I found both approaches helpful and would honestly recommend trying both. The activities during the week is where I think Mundo Antiguo stands out from other Spanish schools. I don't have much personal experience with other schools in South America, but from what I heard from others while attending, other schools didn't have great organization or attendance for many of their activities. Every activity at Mundo Antiguo had a great turnout, and there was never a day they had to cancel due to low attendance in my 3 months in Cusco. A big part of this comes down to Ninoska, the activities coordinator. She does a tremendous job greeting people and getting to know them. Beyond that, she's an overall great person. I had a few issues during my time in Cusco, and she always offered help and showed a caring hand. This can be tough to find when you're in a foreign country for an extended amount of time, not knowing many people. Huge shoutout to her and everything she did for me and the school. Weekly activities include: dinners with classmates, salsa classes, language exchange, soccer or volleyball, hiking, and other cultural outings. All were lots of fun. Highly recommend spending at least a week, ideally more, at Mundo Antiguo Spanish school. I met so many great people I can now call friends, and improved my Spanish to the level I'd say I had set as my goal before coming to Peru. My stay in Mundo Antiguo I spent 4 weeks in the Mundo Antiguo school and I had a wonderful time. The school has a great atmopshere and the team is making every effort to give the students a great stay. The teachers are really good and make the lessons a lot of fun with excercices and games. I had my lessons in a group of 2-3 people. When I came I knew little Spanish but after 4 weeks I have made good progress. In the evenings and weekends the school also organises additional activities that you can join of you like such as salsa lessons, joint diners, movie nights and language exchanges with people from Cusco. I also really enjoyed the home stay with the Delia family who took really good care of me and also allowed me to further practice my Spanish. Finally, the agency that organises the weekend trips is also great. I had to change some of my planned trips and there is every day a very kind lady in the school who was super flexible and helped me to rearrange.
